Aetherium - PA 550

The ClefSonic Aetherium - PA 550 is a reference-grade analog preamplifier designed as the control heart of a true high-end audio system.

Built around a fully balanced signal architecture, the PA 550 is engineered for silence, precision, and absolute control of the music signal before it reaches the power amplifier. Its purpose is simple: preserve the smallest details, maintain natural tonal balance, and deliver the signal with authority, scale, and transparency.

The analog signal stage is designed around a Class A operating concept, chosen for its smoothness, stability, and natural musical flow. Combined with a short internal signal path and carefully separated power supply sections, the PA 550 aims for low noise, excellent channel separation, and clean dynamic expression.

The preamplifier supports both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections, making it suitable for modern reference systems as well as traditional high-end setups. Source selection is handled from the front panel, with dedicated access to inputs such as Line, DAC, CD, PHONO, AUX, XLR, and RCA, depending on configuration.

The front display shows volume and selected input clearly, while the large central volume control gives the unit a classic tactile feel. No touchscreen gimmicks, no toy-like interface — just proper hardware, built like it means business.
